Updates

Ionize checks its official update service in the background. When a newer signed build is listed, the app opens release notes. Downloads still come from the Ionize Discord bot. The in app Updates screen does not download or apply a package.

What gets checked

1. The client asks for the latest release on the configured channel (stable or beta).
2. The release manifest is verified with Ed25519.
3. If a newer build is listed, the Updates control switches to View release notes.
4. You read the notes in app or on the site, then install the new build from the official Discord bot when you choose to update.

Where to watch it

Inside the app you will see Check for Update, Checking, View release notes, or Up to Date. The website status bar and Latest Release section read the same public channel.

If verification fails

Treat the listing as untrusted and request a fresh download from the official Discord bot. Do not bypass a failed signature.
